Step into history with walking tours of historic Downtown Mountain View!

Back by popular demand: Walking tours of the historic heart of our community, Downtown Mountain View!

Tours will be led by members of the Mountain View Historical Association who are looking forward to sharing Downtown Mountain View’s 150+ year evolution by telling the stories of historic sites and buildings on and around Castro Street. Tour stops and historic information have been compiled and curated by our past president and Mountain View historian, Nicholas Perry.

All tours will begin at Centennial Plaza at 600 W. Evelyn Avenue. Registration is required to secure your spot. When you register, you’ll be able to pick your tour time, with the first tour starting at 1:00 p.m. and the final tour starting at 3:00 p.m. The standard tour will be approximately one mile and one hour long and will cover historic sites along Castro Street, ending near Eagle Park. Tours will be limited to 8 people and will be outdoors (face coverings optional, per SCC Health Guidelines).

Tours are free for MVHA members, suggested donation of $15 for non-members. You may also purchase an MVHA membership online during your event registration. Tour donations and membership dues help us continue our mission to preserve and share Mountain View’s history with the community; thank you for your support!

In the event of rain, tours may be canceled. Check back here for updates.
