About the Webinar:
Mountain View might have been a small farming community when women were fighting to win the right to vote over a century ago, but that doesn’t mean this community wasn’t active! As part of nation-wide celebrations honoring the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the MVHA‘s Fall 2020 webinar will focus on the stories of how women in the Mountain View area mobilized to help secure the right to vote over a century ago. Our free online event will include:
- A special video presentation by MVHA member Pamela Baird that brings to life the stories of the people and places that shaped the women’s suffrage movement in the Mountain View area.
- A slideshow talk with Dr. Amy Ellison from the Los Altos History Museum, who will share highlights from the museum’s new special exhibit, Rise Up! The Fight for Women’s Suffrage
MVHA Board Elections:
Speaking of voting, this event will also serve as the MVHA’s annual meeting and biannual board election. A short election will take place at the start of event where members will be invited to vote on the nominees for MVHA Board President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
We hope to see you there!
